I devoted my entire adult life in the Landscape, Design and Nursery business, it came easy for me as my talents were better than most. As years went by my talents evolved to levels that truly surprised me. I was mentored by the best… a Landscape Designer / Artist (Doug Castle) creating memorable projects across the globe. We partnered in the 80’s, opening the largest design office in Woodland Hills (Staffed with Architects to Draftsman and everything between).
Our design customer base were the high-end Contractors, Pool Builders, Developers and Home-Builders, Landscapers, Masonry Contractors and even homeowners.
All these customers needed help building these projects. I was there to help. My business grew quickly. I was building projects I had never built before… Having talented sub-contractors and installers, I was able to surpass all expectations of my ability to design and manage.
Now a Senior, I needed to slow the pace. I purchased one of the biggest retail nurseries in Ventura (Along with my partner David Friedman). We knew that there was a huge demand for beautiful quality landscapes, that would require beautiful shrubs and trees to make these projects come alive.
Our customer base grew and grew and grew, I started doing landscape designs, and before you knew it, Small to Medium sized projects were becoming a full-time venture. I started recruiting the best contractors to help with installations. (A difficult process) most did not display the workmanship I required. It took over a year of interviews, seeing their work, talking with their customers, only to find a few quality installers that were not over-priced.
